Storage

Our apples are available for up to twelve months of the year, depending on the variety. In CA/ULO storage facilities, temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees and an oxygen content of between 0.9 and 1.8 per cent create the optimum conditions for prolonged storage.

The apples then go into “hibernation”, which slows the ripening process right down. SALEM-Frucht GmbH has the capacity to store 38,000 tonnes of produce.

We use state-of-the-art technology to continuously monitor our range of products in relation to temperature, oxygen content and other parameters. The result is maximum freshness – all year round.

In 2013 we opened our CA / ULO storage with a capacity of 6,000 tons of fresh Lake Constance apples.
